No more calling it what it is...

Military Times is reporting that the House Armed Services Committee will no longer allow the phrase "global war on terror" to be used in the defense budget in 2008. Why do you ask?

“There was no political intent in doing this,” said a Democratic aide who asked
not to be identified. “We were just trying to avoid catch phrases.”

Catch phrase, you say? So for the last few years it's been a catch phrase and not an accurate description of what is going on? I suppose if you change the name it helps to forget that we are in a war on terror. Is that kind of like an ostrich sticking it head in the sand?
