(Gasp) Say it at so! Iran helping Iraq Militia

Like we didn't know something like this was happening - Way to go ABC!

Hezbollah close to US

Hezbollah in Latin America

Little to close for comfort.

I'd say it is a smart move for radio stations...not censorship

If the radio station I listen to played the Dixie Chicks I wouldn't listen to them any longer. I would say it is a smart economic move on the behalf of the radio stations.

Dear President Ahmadinejad....

Foxnews.com provided a pdf of his letter to the American Public. Click here to read it. Below is my response.

Dear President Ahmadinejad....
It is quite obvious that you are not a man to be trusted because you have no problem trying to manipulate the American people with your letter. It is despicable that you try to use American negative public opinion of our President and his policies for your propaganda.

You have made it quite clear that you will not help Iraq as long as our forces are in the region. Unfortunately for you, that speaks volumes to me. It says to me that you have something to gain from our withdrawal from Iraq and whatever that maybe, it is most likely not in the best interest for Iraq but in the best interest for Iran. It also says you do not see peace in the same way I see it.

"Both our nations are God-fearing, truth-loving and justice-seeking, and both seek dignity, respect and perfection.
"Both greatly value and readily embrace the promotion of human ideals such as compassion, empathy, respect for the rights of human beings, securing justice and equity and defending the innocent and the weak against oppressors and bullies."

You say these things, however, what I see from you is a quite different picture. I have seen the reports on your countrymen assisting Al Qaida and the use of children in fighting battles and I know of the oppression of your women in your society. That doesn't not sound like respecting rights, defending innocent and the weak or securing justice and equality. You speak of 9/11 and the atrocity however you assist the very organization that carried it out.

One of the many differences between our country and yours is acceptance which is something that you know nothing about. Your "compatriots" are in our country and have been accepted and do contribute to our society. Let me point out the obvious - they are Americans - while they hold on to their hertitage and celebrate it they may do so freely and openly in a different country which is not Iran - Have you asked yourself why? Why would anyone leave their homeland and move to America - a place that many of your Middle Eastern "compatriots" vow to eradicate?

You give lip service to the President and his fellow Americans in hopes that it will further your agenda. How is that working out for you? Have you received the feed back that you had hoped or did your read the American people wrong? At any rate, you obviously have a very different opinion on what peace is and how to achieve it not to mention you have a very poor understanding of the American people and our government. You want a dialogue - show us your true purposes or motivations for your nuclear weapons - not possible? Good day to you!

Many more reasons....

I came across this picture on Fox news yesterday and it was of an Airman holding a little girl- an Iraqi- apparently she lost both her parents in an insurgent attack and he was the only one who could comfort her. See the pic and read about it here.

After watching this video (or see previous post) it has become apparent to me that all the children our men and women come in contact in Iraq and show we care about them are the ones that can help make the difference. This may be an avenue that we won't see the benefits from for sometime but you never know. As shown in the video obviously they start very early in age teaching hate.

Here are many of the reasons we are in Iraq and one of reasons we can't leave yet:

Click here to see a soldier playing soccer with some Iraqi kids.

Click here to see a collection of photos put together in a slideshow.

As I continued on my search for a little hope and to help preserve faith in the mission I am finding it more and more difficult because the ONLY people (at least it seems) trying to show some positives are individual that are over there. Not the media - not that comes as a huge surprise. But for every positive thing out there on the web there are at least five negatives and just take a wild guess at where they come from!

Our men and women are not over there fighting for nothing. Thank God for the individuals that post their stories and pictures of some of the decent things coming out of this war.

Misunderstanding of Islam? I don't think so.

Six Muslims walk on to a plane....Then they were escorted off. Read here: http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/11/21/D8LH9VQO0.html

Congrats to the airline for having the brass ones to say 'to bad so sad but get off the plane!'

These gentlemen have the idea that it is a misunderstand of their religion. They can try and educate Americans all they want on Islam and what it is about, but that is not the point. The simple fact of the matter is that there are people who have and still want to see Americans dead and all in the name of Allah. Educating Americans on Islam or what it means to be a Muslim is not going to change that. If the religion is as peaceful as what many Muslims say - it isn't the Americans that need to be educated.

Prior to Sept. 11, 2001, if you wanted to stand on the sidewalk and pray, have at it. But it is no longer that time anymore. It is very unfortunate that those that practice the religion and are peaceful have to watch what they do but that is the way it is. 3,000 people died on our soil in the name of Allah.

Those six gentlemen can say that people don't understand the religion. Maybe we don't but to be an American there isn't a requirement for understanding, there is acceptance and tolerance, but sorry, we don't tolerate or accept our people being killed. There is no misunderstanding here.

I am the biggest SHMUCK!! Salutes and thanks!

Why? Because I didn't get this up on the days I should have and I even posted other stuff before this one. Don't ask where my head has been but I am sure we can all take a stab at it - my nose hasn't been breathing fresh air that is for sure but I have pulled my head from this unnamed place and I have put it on straight.

First of HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO ALL MARINES - past and present, living and non-living. I had already wished this to my Husband, Dad and Grandfather, I wanted to wish it everyone else I am just a little late getting there!

Second, THANK YOU to all veterans past and present, living and non-living.

To everyone who is currently serving - your courage and commitment and daily sacrifices are very much appreciated. Whether you have made the military your career or whether you are just in for four years, it is a hard lifestyle that you and your families are enduring. It is with much gratitude when I say thank you!

To the living veterans thank you for your past sacrifices, without them we would not have gotten to were we are today as a country. You took an oath that said you would lay your life on the line for your country - that says volumes.

To those that have given the ultimate sacrifice - there are no words that can be said to you and your families that would ever encompass what gratitude I have for your service and sacrifice. You have made it possible for generations to enjoy freedom and prosperity in a country without fear. While thank you is never enough, I hope when you look down you see how your sacrifice has touched so many lives in so many ways and there are many that are thankful!!

My Best and Semper Fi!

If you aren't worried about terrorism or terrorist - THINK AGAIN!

Today is a two post day. Mostly because I have been reading blogs and finding some interesting stuff. I say interesting however it is not material that should not be taken lightly. I understand what is out there and I have understood for a long time. I don't believe that many Americans have connected the dots, for whatever the reason but they need to and they need to come to terms with what we and the rest of the world are against. Maybe this film will help! I found this on Mike the Marine's website http://hallsofmontezumashoresoftripoli.blogspot.com/

Caution to any American who watches - it is quite offensive.

Then you should read this

Do you trust the media?

To say that I trust the media would be like saying I like running my head into a brick wall. So I don't do that nor do I read the newspapers anymore. I will look all over the net for the latest stories or news but I am on a newspaper boycott. What about television news? I don't watch that either. Not only because I don't trust them but honestly our tube mostly is playing "Little Einstein" or Disney. Very little else makes it through.

Anyway, I can not stand that our current news media shows the worst of the worst and never anything good about what is going on. It's like they take a story and then show it one way and once the public has seen it that way they hammer it to death like there is nothing else to it.

For the past three years all we have heard about is all the negative things about Iraq. We hear about the how many bombs went off and how many people that got killed. We have heard about a handful of people that behaved in horrible ways. We have heard these things over and over and over again. Of course people want change. How about this for a change - Show some of the good things that are happening!!!! How about that for a change??

Here are some stories that you may have missed because - who the hell knows why, but here they are:

Iraq Infrastructure -
http://www.aliraqi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=60991
http://www.portaliraq.com/news.php?catid=10

I found these just by running searchs such as "iraqi infrastructure". When you look for a specific thing you will find it.

Now after reading someother article especially ones that I found under education it is quite obvious that there are a large group of people - lets call them terrorists- who do not want anyone to succeed or prosper in Iraq to include the Iraqis themselves. Mostly because these terrorists are Islamic Extremists and because the "Westerners" are helping the Iraqi people to rebuild Iraq they are no longer "pure", "close to Allah" whatever their reasoning is for trying to destory them. Anyway, I came up with a very good analogy as to why we should not leave Iraq just yet.

Let's say Iraq is a boat. We borded this boat and set sail. We had a specific destination in mind however the boat sprang a leak. This leak has grown however there are enough people on the boat to start a line to scoop up the water and dump it out of the boat so the boat will not sink. To me in my mind this is the deal - the boat is still sailing, it is still moving forward, it is still taking on water but the more people we utilize to take out the water the faster the ship will sail and the faster we will reach our destination.

So long for now.

Brother in Arms...so to speak...Outstanding Musician

For anyone that has ever served in the military, especially the Marine Corps, there is a camaraderie among the members regardless of whether you have actually ever met or served with the individual or not. I am going to toot my horn about this guy, his music and an awsome cause all in one post!!

A friend of mine sent me this link: www.letssaythanks.com Please go there and send a Thank you card to a military member. Really...it only takes two minutes and you will let someone who is spending a lot of time away from their loved ones, in a very dangerous and very far away land, for you and future generations. They don't do it for the money or fame or anything like that. There is no such thing when you are in the military. Moving on....

When I went to this website I saw a story about Mike Corrado http://www.mikecorrado.com/ (there is also some links in the side bar). I went to his website to hear the song they were talking about called "On My Watch To Night". LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the song!!! Then I thought, well let me listen to some others because sometimes someone can have one really good song. BUT....all the songs are good!!! I mean not just good as in good I mean good as in my hard earned money is going to buy one for me, for Christmas presents and I am going to shout it out to the world because this guy is FANTASTIC!! Every song was great!!!

Why are you still here? Go to his website - check him out!!

It's Amazing...Part 2

I know it has been out for a little bit and especially because of the elections coming next week, it has been plastered everywhere. People much smarter than me have commented very well on the whole story but I just got to add a much simpler view.

What am I talking about? John Kerry and his brillant comment.

"You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your
homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't,
you get stuck in Iraq."

When told, suggested, asked (whatever you want to call it) to apologize for this comment this is what he said:

"I apologize to no one for my criticism of the president and of his broken policy."

First off - Dude....SHUT....UP!! You are not a comedian, you were not at the Improv, you were on the campain trail with the media watching - what the hell did you expect? How long have you been in politics? There is a script for your speech and they make them for a reason - I suggest...NEVER STRAY FROM THE SCRIPT AGAIN!

Whatever got into you to say it that way in the first place, who knows, but get off your high freakin' horse and say your sorry and quit your whining about how so and so is not taking reposability for this or that or the other thing and take a little responsability yourself and realize YOUR NOT A COMEDIAN - your a politican and a representative and looking more like an idiot than you have before!

Sen. Kerry made a "botched joke?"

Huh?
